Magdalena and Beatrice are back form another Lovely Holiday. This time they caught the foiling bug at Lake Garda, Italy. They were so inspired by the surroundings, they had to take a coffee break in the middle of the Lake to take it all in! What a beautiful place and what a blast they had learning to foil!
Team lovely holiday: After Denmark, we decided to drive down to Italy. Little did we know the issues our van would have. Everything that could go wrong did! It took us 5 days to get from the North of Denmark to the South of Germany. We discovered a different issue with the van every day. From a leaking tire to the car pulling to the right and having to replace all four tires, to a leaking coolant tank and finally the whole engine needing to be replaced. Instead of windsurfing we unexpectedly found ourselves doing some euro sightseeing and spent a week in Munich with Adam and Alina. (Thanks for saving our butts!) Which in the end was a highlight of the trip as the summery days lingered around that week. Surfing in the Eisbach, cruising the pump tracks and skate bowls, indoor surfing and exploring Munich! Before we knew it the van was ready and we were on our way to Sardinia. We drove through snowy mountains in Austria, the Norwegian was unimpressed while the Aruban was killing herself taking videos. We made a quick pitstop at the tour of Pisa before jumping on the bumpy ferry ride. We were one day late for the storm in Sardinia but felt the waves on the ferry ride. Sardinia was incredibly scenic and two weeks was not enough to explore the whole place. We had some power freestyle in Sa Barra & Porto Pollo, kitesurfed at Punta Trettu. Caught some waves at Funtana Meiga and Marina de la Rossa. The scenery was amazing on the windless days, and we suffered another van breakdown. All in all, it was a road trip to remember! But hopefully next time we’ll get to explore Sardinia for longer and with that new engine that van will live a looong life!
After Australia, Beatrice (Oda Johanne) and Magdalena (Sarah-Quita Offringa) parted ways and each headed to their homes. A week later Beatrice realized she needed to escape the winter in Europe and before Magdalena knew it Beatrice was at her doorstep in Aruba. Just in time for the windy season, and also the unexpected lockdown! Her six week trip turned into 3,5 months. With official contests being cancelled, the dynamic duo put all this extra time to good use and sailed their hearts out. Always trying to out-do each other and with seemingly unlimited energy they were on the water practicing a different discipline every day until dark. Follow Beatrice and Magdalena in Aruba, going for freestyle, slalom, foil, wave and kiting. It was a Lovely Holiday to remember!
A road trip to remember for a lifetime! 1,5 years ago we packed our van with EVERYTHING and drove from Stavanger to Lofoten with one mission: “Do Cool Stuff”.
Road tripping “at home” made me realize that there are so many golden places in Norway that I have never seen, due to always being on the go for training windsurfing in warm and windy places. For a change, these weeks were not about getting the most hours on the water to train, but all about adventuring around in a van seeing epic places and just ENJOY Norway!
Thanks to Mataki for supporting my windsurfing career for the 2nd year in a row! Very happy to have a sponsor that cares about the weather and the wind as much as me=) Thanks for the video Mataki! Check it out!
“Follow Beatrice and Magdalena on their 5 week road trip up and down the coast of WA. They find awesome conditions for freestyle, wave sailing and through trial and error learn how to survive in the outback.
Especially that Australian wildlife… How fascinating!”
Once again: Guaranteed terrible acting.
But we hope to give you all a laugh during these times! ❤
After a hectic year of traveling and windsurfing, Beatrice (Oda Johanne) and Magdalena (Sarah-Quita Offringa) find themselves back where their windsurfing career started. Brazil!
Hold on as they go for off-roading Brazilian style before busting out their latest freestyle moves in Jericoacoara and Lagoa Grande. And also it seems they’re getting more and more synchronized! Obrigada Brazil for another lovely holiday yet again!
